We all hope
for that connection.
We all hope
to be left alone.
We all hope
that someone will notice,
But the only way they’ll notice,
is if we notice them first,
because.
They’re waiting for
the same damn thing.
Social animals
crave social connection,
yet we’ve been trained:
a manifestation of our society.
A society of patriarchy, industrialism,
economy, selfishness, racism.
We pretend we’re in it alone.
We hate it, yet we don’t end it.
We love it, yet we pretend it isn’t us.
We all hope,
for that big moment.
We all hope,
for it to come to the end.
We all hope,
to be the destruction.
We all think that we are blameless.
The world asks for our extinction.
